March hatch along

My Incubator wanted to jump around so. Not starting until this morning.

Candled my Blue and Black CM and my Barred Rock eggs, BCM's I had 3 clears, and 2 quiters, and the BR's I had 1 quiter, so I now have 24 left in the bator that are going strong! Can't wait until March 4th to see what hatches out! So excited. Couldn't wait for chicks so I went to TSC and bought 8 of what are suppose to be Ameracaunas!

I just love those, jphendrix! I can't wait to get a few more days on mine so I can know how things are going... Mine aren't due til March 14 or so..

Mine is doing surprisingly well. Of course, I'm not sure he fully realizes yet that my original clutch of 11 in my bator has magically turned into 17.. ;)

LOL! I tried talking him into buying me another bator at TSC. I really want one with the new design, but he wouldn't budge, I did get a win on the chicks though. At first he said no, and I kept talking and won LOL! Now to try it on the bator

Well, I'm upset I didn't realize how much a turner would help. I've never incubated more than 8 eggs or so at once, and these temp swings from hand turning are killing me! I know I'm likely overreacting though, bc the thermometer is far more sensitive than the center of an egg..

. Cute chicks but they are easter eggers not ameraucanas. They should be good layers of blue/green or green eggs, maybe pinkish but the birds themselves are will be a mix... Not purebreds. No worries, they should be pretty non the less. One of the most beautiful hens i have ever had was an ee

Yea they cost abt the same at the incubator, at least the LG does. My first bator I bought used for $20 and then bought the turner for $40

. Dont worry, your eggs will be fine with these fluctuations. Turners are definitely the way to go for convenience though...
