March Hatching Madness

So, of the eggs that went into lockdown this week, I ended up with 3/10 from shipped Faverolles, 1/2 from my own faverolles, and 8/11 shipped bantam Ameraucanas!

Here's one of the favs...I love this pic, I think he looks like a little old man with his fluffy little beard - I need to learn how to photoshop, so I can add a little cane...

but I have two of'em that their feathers didn't fluff out all of the way...

Will i have to bath them when they get older?

Doesn't look like the feather are going to change by themselves. The lil silkie, had egg shell pieces stuck to his/her back. I got them all off, but the feathers...IDK.
thanks

You can bathe them now, nice warm water, not too hot, I usually put them back in the bator to dry before I put them in the brooder

He/ She has spradle legs...should i be concern? Will it take care of it's self? He seems to be the peanut of the bunch too... i'm scared now... hope nothing happens to the little guy...

We have our first batch in our Brinsea Mini going. On Day 8, the electricity went out for 4 hours. I figured we lost them with that. But as we candled, we continued to see development and movement. Oh, we did toss two of them as they never did develop, but still have 5 going.

Yesterday they went into lockdown. Last night I checked the eggs before going to bed and two were pipped. This morning another has pipped.

So we should be meeting our hatchlings in the next day or so!

They are mutts - roos are an Easter Egger and a White Cochin. Hens are a mixed lot of Austrolorps, Delawares, Red Sex Link, Leghorns, etc, etc, etc. I hope the EE roo had some action going!

With spraddle legs, you do have to intervene. Do a search on the emergencies section for it, and you will find lots of posts about it, and how to fix it.
