Many years ago I bought 20 pullets from a local farmer. They started dying the next day. After the 4th died I paid for a necropsy. Mareks. The vet told me to euthanize all of them plus all of my other chickens and basically salt the earth and give up keeping chickens bc it lasts forever. Well, I didn't euthanize, but thepullets dropped like flies while I tried every remedy I could find anywhere. When I was down to the last 4 I tried a homeopathic remedy recommended by a local health food store. And they stopped dying. The remaining 4 lived normal lives. I gave the remedy to all my other chickens just in case and no one else got sick. The last of the 4 finally passed away this year of old age. They were production reds and she was 8 yrs old - and continued to lay right up to the week before she passed! I'm surprised she lived so long since she did nothing all day but eat in the last few years, bless her. She'd lie down in front of the pvc feeder and just munch all day. I do not recall the remedy unfortunately - but I did want to pass on some hope. No further infections even when I got new chicks a year later.
