I know this is a really long thread but just read page 50 and 51 and look at the photos. Does this look like your hen? I think it's worth a try.

They put her on a calcium supplement it was Osteo -form calcium/ phosphorus supplement. I wouldn't think the cuttlefish bone would hurt I think it would be a good idea untill you can get the other. I have never heard of people giving it to chickens but its given to small pet birds and tortoise's. And it's calcim.

Thank you for the Link! It sounds a lot like mine! the only difference is mine isn't laying but she is rather old and doesn't lay much anyway!
My mum had said if she hasn't made any improvement by Wednesday I have to have her put down

This is because I am going on holiday on Friday night and my grandma can't look after her in the state she's in( the chicken not my grandma). I am hoping and praying this is the same as my chicken! My mum refuses to take them to the vets as they are so so expensive but I will ring the vet tomorrow and try convince my mum to let me if I pay! I don't want to get my hopes up but as no other chicken has come down with anything I think it must just be something wrong with her!
Thank you so much for finding that page for me!

I just went to give her the egg shell I crushed up, (I found some). It isn't very long but it shows her and she's pushed up on to her elbows.

You can also get Tums for calcium.
When I've fed egg shell, I boil the egg, then put it in the blender , it makes the egg shell real fine.
Vitamins would help too.

Thank you! I'm hoping too! I have PM her earlier about it and the good news is that I have convinced my Mum to let me take her to the vets! We are going to try go on Monday! We haven't got a avian vet near us though so my Mum doesn't think they will do anything for her but when I ring up I am going to mention that I think it is a calcium problem! I'm just hoping that it is just a calcium deficiency and the vet can help her

Yay! You have a great Mom! Not sure where your located but you could go to the Where am I where are you section of this forum by clicking on forum in the brown buttons at the top of the page then click on social then you'll see where am I where are you and find your state and ask where a good chicken vet is in your area. Maybe there's one near you don't know about it really helped me. Good luck and keep us posted.

When I put her into bed tonight I put her at the front of the hut and I was about to open the back door of it to then lift her up and put her in her box at the back. She started walking on her elbows and she walked a good 2 maybe 3 foot to where she settled down for the night! So she could probably move around enough to get food, water and to bed. The only problem is that its just over a foot jump up to the hut because I accidently fell on to the ramp about 3 years ago and broke it.

So me and My dad are going to make a new one tomorrow. We are going to make it quite long so it doesn't sloop up to much so she should be able to shuffle up and down it!
