Are marijuana plant leaves bad for hens to eat? It's legal here in Oregon. We have 4 plants in our backyard. My girls LOVE it. We try to keep them away, of course, but they're drawn to it. Is it proven bad for them?

IDK if its bad for them but its going to lead to harder drugs.
Next thing you know they're going to be hanging out in alleys smoking crack or shooting heroin.
Funny stuff, Moonshiner!

Won't hurt the hens .... but what about your plants!!:hit

Ya before you know it all their friends are going to be over pinching off your plants, eating everything in the hen house, laying around on the roost till noon.
Then they'll start running around with those little pullets with the tramp stamps from the coops on the other side of the tracks. Gonna end up with them living in your basement looking for handouts the rest of their lives.
Just say no.

It's legal here, too.

Levity aside, to answer the original question, no, it won't harm your chickens. To their digestive and neurological systems, it's merely another herbal plant.

I grow this plant and make healing salves, tinctures, and medicinal oil capsules. I have a chronic spinal cord disorder that I treat with it, as well as arthritic pain. I also use it to treat my chickens from time to time.

The most successful and heart warming result I've had so far was when I had a baby chick with a very painful case of swollen vent find relief when I treated her with cannabis salve. The pain relief qualities of this plant are stellar. It's one reason why it's still illegal in most states. It would seriously cut into Big Pharm's bottom line.
