-13°F here at the moment. I've left my lamps on in the coop the last 3 nights. It has dropped to -25°F...maybe lower. Our lowest eas supposed to be -35°F. Not sure if we hit it or not. I was busy hibernating. Luckily I fattened up for winter & have plenty of insulation.

oh no! Frozen pipes again! you need to just wrap them with heat tape! where is the luck! my goodness!! We are almost out of coal! and we always have a ton left over after spring. now I dont know how a big coal truck will feed us with this snowy ice packed driveway!! And I have one bag of feed left!!!!! and they have a big truck too!!!!! I WANT A HEAT WAVE NOW!!! I cant afford this crap!

My husbands company has a electric cap, (they make batteries) and they have to shut down a bunch of buildings for two days because the over usage and all the normal people needing the elecric for heat! so if they use electric they charge them a FORTUNE! they gave him the option of working in a dif building, I told him he better take the offer or use his vac days.... need I say he is at work today?

lol, Oz...I am on my way. Jonesin' for some beach. All but one of our vacations for the past three years have been cancelled either because I was working on my Master's or because we were saving for the down payment on this house. We drive to SoCal and Mexico every year, plus one bigger trip, so I am in dire need of some R&R.

Ive been searching for some. Every single place that carries heat tape cant keep it in stock :/ even had my dad check up in ohio... they sold out up there too. The torpedo heater is heating the barn but wasnt doing crap to thaw the pipes bc of the wind whipping so bad.
