Marking eggs

What would be the safest and best way to date-mark your eggs?

Most seem to use pencil or Sharpie. Neither seems to cause any problem.

Pencil or sharpie. If they are going in the incubator it doesn't matter which, but if they are going under a broody the pencil will wear off.

Yep, pencil and sharpie. You definitely need a sharpie if going under a broody.
