Marking Stray Dogs in our Yards?

Too bad we cant put a spin on whats considered animal cruelty. think about it
animal cruelty = some one else's animal killing or maiming someone else's livestock.
how is that not cruel, the animal being attacked is scared hurt confused, dying. Oh wait thats just the nature of the beast, but for a human to splatter a dog with paint whiledoing the act is in humane, I think the laws seriously need to be reviewed and changed.
it becomes animal cruelty only when some one doesnt like what someone else did.
thats my opinion on the subject,

Are your friendly enough with the dog to get it in your car and go to another town far away and report it as a stray. Or have hubby tell your inlaws next time their dog is on your property you will shoot to kill,I have in laws I would like to never see or speak to again. Here in tn it's called animal cruelty to shoot a dog with a paint gun,don't know about in laws, you may be able to shoot them. marrie

I don't think it is most people that the laws are trying to protect the animals from. It is the one or two dumba... people that would take something like shooting a dog once or twice with the paintball gun (to deter them) to the extreme and shoot the dog 5, 10, 50 times or have the air pressure so high that the pellet actually breaks bones.

I would soooooooooooo rather have a dog that had gotten out come home spotted with paint than be dead.
Dead seems much 'crueler' than painted.

I knew a guy who had a tranq gun, the kind you shoot with a .22 blank.

He would tranq the stray dogs, go get them and then tie them up in his neighbors yard at night.

The poor guy just could not figure out how his dogs ended up in his yard tied up.

Really, it was halarious for quite some time.

welp, i don't own a paintball gun..........but i do have my handy dandy can of blue kote (can you see where i'm going with this?)
i just called the dear little doggie over to me, had my son hold his collar and painted a big purple bullseye on his side!
word must've gotten around because we've seen far fewer roaming dogs in the last few weeks.
a paintball gun is still on my wish list........but this has worked for the moment!
