Hi Amber. Welcome to BYC! This is a really great community. You'll get lots of good info and advice here ... and lots of good ideas, too. I'm right up the road from you, in Cecil County. I'm a sucker for bantams, too. We started out with them a few years ago as a 4H project, but they're addictive, so now we're both hooked! We have Nankin Bantams. They're a critically endangered breed, according to The Livestock Conservancy. You can check them out, here:hi everyone I am from belair md and looking to start my flock this spring. I am interested in bantams. if you breed bantams in Maryland let me know as I am trying to get a list together for spring to get all the chicks I want. I love silkies, also looking for polish, molted cochin and interested in learning about more.

They're the coolest little birds I've ever had ... very sweet-natured with lots of personality. My roosters are so calm that the "extras" all live together in a single bachelor flock. It's pretty cool! We have a handful of young roos and cockerel available, right now, but we'll be setting eggs soon, so we may have some straight-run youngsters in a month or so.
Even if Nannies aren't your "thing," please stay in touch. It'll be nice to have an honest-to-goodness BYC "neighbor!"
