Mass November 6th, 2011 Boston Poultry Show

That really stinks! But like hoppy said, better near home than on the highway!

I had the brakes go out on our old Suburban once just as I reached our driveway in China. Still makes me nervous what could have happened on the ride up.

It was great to meet up with you today BethG. Thanks for the BO boys. It was nice to meet you and get those beautiful boys. It was kind of your friends to chime in on my sexlink question; certainly the BR girl will help me toward a few sexlink chicks with the BO boys. Thank you for the BR, she was an unexpected surprise. Everyone is in the turkey pen for the night, get used to each other and their new home. DH didn't get very upset as I said I had paid for the boys a while ago. Go figure--I was expecting a lecture. Many thanks.

How did you end up doing? Was there a lot of vendors selling this year?​

I did well thanks for asking!!!

The sales area was a really good size but, I would say it was a tad bit smaller than last year's fall show. I think the weird snow storm maybe had something to do with it but, I'm not 100% sure. There were alot of bunnies, Pigeons, and Ducks there. I wind up adopting a call drake not like I need anymore drakes but, he was soo cute I had to take him home

I know huh? There were little girls and boys walking around with the cutest fuzziest little bunnies I've ever seen. Even my friend that has never owned one was tempted to buy one just b/c they were so cute. I talked her out of it b/c I hate when ppl buy them, have no idea about the care, and after 2 wks what to get rid of them

I went to the show. It was wonderful! Beth G I never did get to meet you

I wasnt sure what to look for Lol!!! Were those your turkeys showing?

I didnt see any cornish, which disappointed me, unless I looked in the wrong spot.

I was hoping to find a male ringneck to at least give my female a mate, and there was one small cage full of them there, but the owner crowded so many into such a small area, the had pooped all over each other and I figured they must have come from a place with not the healthiest conditions, so I passed them up as to not risk disease spread. I did feel bad for them though. Hopefully I will find one at either the sturbridge pigeon show or the Poultry congress in January.

I did see blue BANTAM le fleche in the sale area. That would have been a SCORE if anyone picked those up.

Shay 20 and poultry run farm I missed seeing you both !! Will you be coming to the NEBC fall show? I guess the newsletters should be coming out soon. Im not involved in the club anymore so who knows when exactly the show books are coming out.

Edited to add: We did buy 5 buff orps, looked like 4 females and one male so far !
