I can see it being a mess with the native vegetation here. (But maybe that isn't an issue with chickens. I don't know. I just know that the horses and cows constantly have weeds and pieces of sage brush tangled in their tails and dragging behind them.

It also seems like having all those fluffy "low riding" feathers dragging int he snow might not be ideal.
