my australop male is of 6moth, fully active, but not showing sexual behaviour

We also have an Australop, and I wondered the same thing about him. I never saw him mating, or showing any interest until he had competition. He is about 8 months old, and is an awesome cockerel. I think he was mating before, or at least trying I noticed since the other cockerel, a Barred Rock, came into play, the ladies are choosing our Australop over him, and allowing him to mate. Omen is his name, and he is a gentleman. Our new(ish) Barred Rock cockerel is not
