Thank you for the pictures!!! I love pictures because you get such a better feel for things. I did order this coop a day ago. I did so much researching and could not find a quality wood coop for the same price. Did you place a self-feeder in one of the nesting boxes? I can send you a link for someone that found the perfect feeder to fit inside if you like. Also, any reasons you chose not to build the stand? I really appreciate your feedback. This is my first time owning chickens. My new babies are going into lockdown tomorrow!

I didn't have materials to build a stand. I would like the info you have on the feeder. I just move my feeder inside the coop when I close them in at night. I also did alot of looking at coops and this was the only one I said yes to.

I did not mention earlier on this thread that at one point, I had 1 RIR rooster and 4 EE pullets all fitting comfortably on the one roosting bar of the small Snap Lock every night. This was before they started laying but they were all basically full grown. I guess if you have a flock that gets along well, you could squeeze in more that you'd think. That being said, however, I decided to just get an Eglu Cube because I realized after having chickens a few months that the design was a bit better with the Eglu. With the Snap Lock, there's no barrier between where the chickens walk and where the poop falls all night, so it's easy for the chickens to get their feet covered in their poop. And besides that, the access door for collecting eggs on the Eglu is a lot quicker and easier to deal with than the design of the Snap Lock (which would not seem like a big deal until you realize that this is something that needs to be done every single day). The poop trays on the Eglu are also a little quicker/easier to manage than the Snap Lock. I also did not like how the smaller Snap Lock model that I owned did not have anything to prevent rain from coming into the coop. The heavy duty shade/tarp that can be purchased along with the Eglu run prevents rain from coming into the coop even in the worst of storms. Overall, the Eglu may cost a lot, but I haven't come across any plastic coops that I like the design of more.

I just purchased the large snap lock coop. I have 6 whitell plymouth rock chicks. I built a solarium out of pvc and chicken wire that I will put the coop in. More when coop arrrives...

Do you have any pictures of the run you built?

Did you use PVC pipping? I'm going to have to make it myself and I'm not super handy.

Yes, it was super easy to put together. It's light weight and easy to move as well
