MAY 2016 "Land of the Free Because of the brave!" Hatch-a-Long Hosted by, Mike & Sally

I've had issues with my small Brinsea too. I tried to hatch eggs in it, they were fine until lockdown and then died. Then I had another set in my styrobator that were doing fine. I locked them down in the small Brinsea because they were banti chicks and I didn't want them banging around with the bigger chicks, and they all died too. I'm boxing that one up for now, and will stick to my styrobator Good luck with your hatch!

If the temp is off I would contact them.

My little Brinsea is my favorite incubator. It's always been spot on.

I have 2 of the 40 advance 'bators. First one I bought is INCREDIBLE!! I love it!! The second one, I ran it for a couple of days with some calibrated thermo/hydro's in there. It was off by .5 degree - that was running it with no eggs, and not on the turner. The way the brinseas turn, I can't keep any of my box type ones in there. I'm guessing that with the 'bator FULL, it must be off by more than .5 degrees. I bumped it up a full degree, we'll see how the next batch comes out.

I think I also need to get more wire type sensors.

Good morning all!! I LOVE the goat pictures! Happy Hatching everyone!

My croads langshans have arrived. I shall wait to set them until tomorrow night. Let them settle a bit which means after the lost MPC ones arrive I'm gonna have a staggered hatch! Depending on how soon my new eggs will arrive.and the lost ones are still in limbo but I'll set those too when and if they come just for grins!

Great!

Any word on the lost shipment?

Good Morning!

Both my Brinsea are a few years old, and are spot on. I wonder if the quality has gone down.

I love how the instructions make a huge deal about how thorough the testing is. The instructions really do say,

BE CAUTIOUS OF LOW COST ANALOGUE OR DIGITAL THERMOMETERS AND HYGROMETERS. BRINSEA

My 1st of May Hatch. Miss Turkey and her chicks... She did a great job. She just talks to them and they seem to listen. There must be 9 chicks ! egg didn't hatch.....
The funny part is she sat until early afternoon yesterday. Around I went in there to give babies more water. I found 5 turkey eggs where the old crippled mama turkey must went in there and laid. They might have been to sold but put them in bator to see if grow.
Plus My 30th to today hatch is almost over.... Lots of chicks.... Anyone local need cheap legbars 2 to day old PM me.....Picture of them later.
