@Offshoreorca I’m rooting for that little one
We have cougar, black bear, coyote and rarely a wolf or two in the backyard. That is just on the ground, the bald eagles are hungry too. People wonder why my animals live in electric fencing....But they are in your backyard......Bear Country USA. Lol! (The Black Hills is one of our favorite places to go for a vacation that is "realativly close" to home.) We have Mountain Lions....some spotted within a couple miles of our house stalking a neighbor and her horse when they were out for a ride. I don't go for walks much anymore just for that reason.
I should!! Just put 29 into lockdown last night. Saw a few internal pips already so they might be a little early. Not holding out much hope for this batch. I used my little giant bator for these and it is not the most reliable incubator. Lots of cold spots. I started with 47 eggs and only locked down 29. This incubator will be retired after this hatch. I wasn't going to use it again after my last hatch, I only got 3/42, but I figured out the temp was way off and messed with it for a few days with an extra thermometer and got where I thought it was more stable and I had extra eggs sitting around ( I hate to waste my silky eggs) so I went ahead and tried it. Still disappointed in the low rate of eggs going into lockdown and still not sure about hatch, but I guess you live and you learn. Hopefully I get at least a few from this batch.Anyone have eggs hatching on Monday
