What bator were you usingSo I did my eggtopsies last night. Out of the 13 eggs that didn’t hatch all but 2 were fully formed.I just don’t understand. But I do know I won’t be using the same incubator again. I guess we live and learn. On a happier note, I have eggs in my new incubator that are doing great. Also have 2 broodies sitting on eggs.
Hoping for much better hatches in the near future.
That’s a good attitude though to not get stuck on it. Move on and try againI checked my set eggs from 3 locations that were set six days ago.
I started with 30 last week and 4 were clear, 3 meyers eggs were clear, 2 of those were my olive eggers, and the one spotty egg SS that had many pores, we were discussing that egg last week and were going to give it a chance, but yes quality control should have not shipped that one, and one of my local white eggs.
I also had 3 the quitters, (developed, but death ringed.) my other olive egg (I had 3 total OE with meyers) none of the olive eggs made it. 2 shipped egg from NC one light brown, the other was a legbar.
I thought I would mention them all because some people had Meyer's eggs. ) I will not feel bad for the quitters, we must move on. I have 23, that will be easier, and faster to turn. and hopefully hatch better.
It was a little giant forced air. It was a couple years old. It had terrible cold spots. I now have a hova bator and it’s doing great. What bator were you using
That is good. I saw a Little Giant at TSC but I didnt get it because I am so used to the Farm Innovator. It was a little giant forced air. It was a couple years old. It had terrible cold spots. I now have a hova bator and it’s doing great.
So did you just do the cup?Update on my little Marans chick. She is doing great, I can’t tell her apart from the others anymore that’s how well she’s doing!
Photo attached shows how well she stands up now! Walking just fine though she is a little slower than the others but I expect her to catch up. She is a black version of a blue birchen. Definitely keeping her! Thank you everyone who came with such great suggestions on how to help this little one. Keeping all that information for further reference.❤View attachment 2164555
