May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

What does that abbreviation mean 😂

My best hatches have been hand turned to and I use a vertical turner.

I'll see how good my hand turning works on the quail because I can't even see inside their eggs 🤦🏼‍♀️😑

FWIW=for what it's worth

Someone told me to try different colored light. I'm incubating waterfowl right now, so I haven't bothered, but when I did some olive and dark chocolate eggs, I couldn't see in--I may try when I get back to incubating chickens.

I have a 2000 lumen flashlight I use. It's hard to see through the speckles.

I'm behind and lost but if you are using a large flashlight for quail eggs...throw it away.
The smaller the better and you have to cup the egg/flash light so NO light shines through.

A small flashlight is only good for the first half or less of incubating quail eggs. a phone flashlight works better for the second half but you have to make sure that your phone flashlight lets the eggs sit right up against it.

Give me until this evening and I'll make a video explaining what I'm trying to say with both a phone flashlight and a small flashlight.

Okay. I'll try my phone. I'm using a small flashlight that's 2000 lumens but it's not working 😑

I found this on my phone real quick... I'll take new ones ASAP.
I don't know if you can tell but you have to wrap your hand around the flashlight and cup it real tight up against the egg so no light shines through.

I'll try it tonight. I want to know if they're alive. One is a celadon (I think that's what it's called) and it's so hard to see through.
