Thank youDepends on your splint. As long as it’s not rubbing skin raw or the chickisn’t outgrowing it, the splint should be ok. You can probably take it off and reapply every 1-2 days if it’s staying clean and the skin looks good.

Thank you! Everyone seems happy and healthy at this point.Pretty! Looks like a gold partridge pattern on one!

I taped my quails legs for 24 hours. I also put it in a cup so it could exercise it's leg muscles.Thank you, I have a chick that I've been splitting every day for a few hours, for splay leg. I felt it's leg but everything seems ok, but Iam not sure so I have left the splint on over night and will check it later this morning. How long can you leave the splint on, safely
Me too. I could use a good hatch! I usually have good ones unless I don't use my own eggsSo exciting! I hope that we both have great marans egg hatches!
Have you candled the eggs?Whats the latest people have had eggs hatch under a broody?
I candled on day 15-16 and we had life... I have heard one chick chirping and saw one egg piped when she moved slightly but my broody always hatches late on day 20 so I am slightly concerned.. maybe its the eggs I got. Hope the chicks are moist enough to hatch.Have you candled the eggs?
I've seen 22 days for chickens
OMG I love the one sleeping in the dish! So cute! (The whole reason I am here is for the baby pics.)Evening update:
8 chicks alive and well! 3 eggs still in limbo, no progress to be seen. Wondering if I should check for internal pips before I go to bed.
4 gold, 4 black. One of the black chicks has a Van Dyke (beard) style white marking, and another looks like the penguin Lovelace from the movie Happy Feettwo of the golds have some black striping and a head spot. I'll try to do individual pictures tomorrow once they are well rested and fluffy.
