May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

Pics
We candled all the eggs last night--most on Day 6 and a few on Day 5. We took out 10 out of 29 that were obviously not viable. One was clear, several had very distinct blood rings, and a few just had a jumble of mush with no veining. These were all shipped eggs, unfortunately. The good news is that we still have 11 of the shipped eggs that are viable, although a few were iffy, but we chose to leave them in for now. Of the 8 eggs from our own girls, all 8 were very obviously viable! The little things were jumping all around inside the eggs! Hopefully things continue to progress in a positive direction. :fl We also moved them to different places in the incubator in case there are some warmer spots and some cooler spots. Temp has been steady at 100.4 to 100.6 and humidity has been anywhere from 30% to 40%. So far, so good!

Morning hatch check-in. 21 chicks are hatched this morning and the +1 from the cup (severe shrink-wrap and weak) had been released to general population. 😁
I'm glad that one isn't in quarantine anymore.

I can't wait until all of mine hatch it seems like it's going to take forever. Only 3 days 😁

I believe 3 days is forever in hatching time. Also why does time slow down after lockdown?
No idea. I swear when I watch, they stop hatching and wait till I go to bed or leave the house.

Swear my quail were worse than chickens and ducks.

By the way... My bantam Brahmas eggs are fertile :bun I'll be adding an egg a day until I have at least 12 in the bator.

I need to go to Hatchers anonymous.
