May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

Can someone tell me how I ended up with 41 eggs in the incubator? WHO DID WHO PUT THOSE EGGS IN THERE!!!!!

I swear I only put 28 in there..

I have room for 82 eggs, but only set 62. Every egg I collect, I have to say to myself...you are cooking enough...lol. I understand

Day 19 for the Svart Hona eggs - have 1 pip this morning....at the wrong end. I need to find my small leg bands so that I can mark who came out of what egg so I can keep up with my nail test experiment. LOL!

We need a thread for your experiment. I want to follow along.

First pip tonight!!! One of my blue eggs. Another one is moving. I wonder what the morning will bring....hopefully chicks when we wake up! Who am I kidding, I will be up in the night to check, lol.

We are now at 5 out of 12 pipped externally with 4 more internally pipped that I can tell for sure!

Batch 2 is now finished hatching. Out of 13 eggs, I had 11 hatch. I've cleaned the incubator and it is drying, I have a whole 3 days before I have to turn it on and fill it with batch four for lockdown.

Batch 3 is in lockdown with an expected hatch of Wednesday.

Day 11 failure.

That's me out for the month, I think. I popped down yesterday to find my broody trying to get out the pen but she went back on the eggs after 10 mins but went down this morning and she's off the eggs and they are stone cold.

Candled then and I've got two stopped developing and only one which is on track. I'll be going down again in an hour to check but if she's not on them do I just call it a failed hatch? I've got another one just started sitting yesterday so should I move the eggs under her or just start from scratch? Just so glad we didn't splash out on expensive eggs on a first time clocker.

EDIT:

Yup still up and the other one is up too, nevermind, time to save up for a Brinsea and some jewellery. One for me and one as bribery.

Broodys chicks due may 13th. Son just built me a brooder. Im new at this. Will be our first hatch. So excited.
Also just found out the chickens we adopted are Cubalayas
