May 2020 Hatch-A-Long

I would like some thoughts on my D-0’s belly. She/he is now active but the belly still has something going on. I am wondering if it’s going to be an ongoing problem or if she will grow out of it.

Hard to see on a black duck. But is there anything I should do to help or anything.

Ok so, incubator 1: I set 15 turkey eggs, lost 2 early. Then 13 went in to lockdown. 2 quitters, and 9 total hatched! So excited for turkeys!
Incubator 2: had same results as listed before, but wry neck didn’t make it. So a total of 13 hatched but lost 3. So 10 out of a total of 28 at lockdown....
incubator 3: three eggs pipping today on day 21, there are 19 at lockdown so we shall see. I don’t feel highly about this hatch.

To me, that doesn't look bad. I'm not putting myself forth as any kind of bird health expert, though. I will say that I've seen similar on ducks, chicks & human babies and have seen this go away on its own within a few days (for birds--humans take longer, usually).

Here's my girl, Eden, and her brand new "hatchling." A sweet little heifer. :love :love :love

Eden is always the odd one our--the gentlest, most timid of the tiny herd of smallish cattle. I'm so glad she had a little girl. I think I'll sell Cait now, since I'm certain she's pregnant--and probably Bryn as well though I love her and her little bull calf, Cam. I may or may not keep our bull, Finn. We just don't have enough land for all of them.😢

DH was saying, "Now don't you kiss that cow," like I was gonna kiss her 🙄 (with him watching...)

One of my daughters Svart Hona chicks had something like that after it hatched. I just kept putting antibacterial ointment on it. It did eventually go away and that chick is doing well - wouldn't be able to tell anything was wrong with it.
