Oooh, gotcha. Yeah, I don't think I can eat turkey anymore after raising a few. Lol

Day 23 has started, and out of 24 eggs there are 4 pips, 1 chick in the incubator, and 5 chicks in the brooder.

This is my first time. I don’t eat them but my family does. I’m butchering some Cornish rocks tomorrow and those are sweet too

I've heard that about Cornish too. At least with them you know they won't have a full healthy life if you don't cull because they get so big most of the time.

Yeah their breasts jiggle it makes me laugh and feel bad at the same time. I’m giving them scrambled eggs for dinner as their last meal. They're 5 weeks so they’ll be like a personal meal size.

Ok ok today has been eventful! Out of the 19 in incubator 3, 10 have hatched! I’m excited because I had low hopes. For this hatch. Any way I have one egg, that during zippering it looks to have gotten its egg sac punctured, and it seems as if the yolk has cemented the baby in its egg. It’s in there breathing and chirping but seems stuck.
When the others have dried a little, maybe I should try to help it? What do you guys think?!

Yes that one can definitely be helped. Timing is the key

If it zipped on it's own it should be safe to help. They typically don't start to zip until all of the blood and yolk is absorbed but if you're concerned you can start at the air cell to make sure the chick is ready. I've never had any issues with helping chicks if they get stuck when zipping.
