May 2023 Hatch-a-long

Pics
Alright, i decided to mark air pockets for the first time, only because I've been concerned about them, they were really small a few days ago (day 5), a little better now (day 8) but i still think they're too small. Since I first noticed i haven't added any water, and won't until I see improvement unless y'all say otherwise.
The eggs without the mark aren't on day 8, but what do y'all think?

Are you in Florida? I've read of lots of other people there dry hatching (not adding any water until lockdown). I dry hatch here because it's a humid climate but I think your climate might be even more humid so it might be worth looking into.

As Iluveggers said, tracking weights on your next hatch would be a good idea. That would help you find what's best for your own climate and incubator.

as of this morning we had 2 babies. i put them together under the mama hen for now, as 1 came from my incubator and 1 from her. i love utilizing my hens when i can, they do amazing.

can someone help me assist 1 egg?
Tomorrow is D Day for this bunch. Not a pip yet. I'm going back to bed as the thunderstorms are approaching for a few hours this morning.
keep safe, get rest.. i hate thunder

I’m moving this batch of customer naked necks eggs to the hatch shelf. They’re glowing because they’re sitting on my seedling shelf waiting while I sanitize the incubator before I pop them in there. I feel like it’s been running nonstop for so long I wanted to make sure the shelf under the hatch tray wasn’t harboring and baddies.

Anyway there are 80 eggs here after pulling all the clears. I’m trying an ‘experiment’ of leaving half the eggs upright in the setting trays.

I plan to watch closely in case there are any issues with it but if it works well I’m hoping it could both simplify moving eggs to the Hatcher and reduce egg crowding as they take up less space upright.

The studies I’ve read on upright hatching seemed to point to it taking a bit longer for the upright eggs but weren’t super big or conclusive so I’m just going to try it out myself!
