Yes I'm watching the incubator constantly right now...

1 more hatch "Tiny" one of the sebrights 3 are currently pipped 1 of then should also make its apperance today.

I moved Shelldon and Thunder to the brooder just before Tiny started to kick out. I was worried with how active those 2 where already and Tiny being so much smaller they might bother him to much.

Just peeked inn then again Mildred Jr should be hatching very soon.

Here are some current pictures

They are soooo cute :love

Lavender crosses, a little lighter but they do look pretty blue. I don't think I would have known there was a difference if my friend didn't have both lavender and blue Orpingtons

Thank you for the clarification. I thought the biggest difference of blue vs lavender was wether or not they breed true? Not necessarily the color of feathers. Maybe your friend can offer some clarification. I'm very interested in chicken color genetics. But it's almost overwhelming between base colors and patterns.

Hi guys, I've been apart of this thread since the start. My homemade incubator malfunctioned while I was at school today. I'm really worried the eggs will be dead now :(
I put eggs in the incubator 3 days ago and I think the temperature dropped to 33 degrees Celsius (91.5 Fahrenheit) for 6 hours today!
Does anyone know if this enough to kill all the eggs?

I think they'll be fine. Just fix the problem and full steam ahead!

Hello! We are from the farm school at clay-Platte Montessori school. We are currently hatching Ayam Cemani eggs and we can't see anything other then a black blob. No veins or anything. If you know anything, please reply. Thanks!
-Sydney, Abby, and Ashlyn.

How exciting for everyone! What day the eggs on? If they're fertile and you have a bright enough light you should be able to see changes in 3-4 days if you know what you're doing. Most beginners wait 7-10 days to candle.
