May Hatch-a-Long!

Pics
day 20!
right now I have a LOT of pips, 10 or 15 if I had to guess?

the first chick to hatch was one from my own flock!!!
only 2 eggs in this batch are mine, they are black copper marans X blr wyandottes. the pullet has only been laying eggs for about 1.5 months so I was not sure if they would hatch, or if they were fertile.
the other marans x wy egg pipped at the wrong end, and is bleeding a little bit. I will have to wait until all the others hatch before I open the incubator to assist it... plus it needs at least 12hrs to absorb, since there is blood. I saw movement 5hrs after the bloody pip so it is still alive... hold on little chick!

she has a rose comb, and marans coloring. she has blueish silver feathers on her legs and toes. soo cool to see the 2 chickens crossed haha!

I went outside to water my garden, probably 20-30 minutes. came back in, and TWO more had hatched, which weren't even beginning to zip when I left!
haha Mahen I completely thought of you... soo funny. surprise!!!

That's great! Those are good pics! I know I'll be interested to see what mine look like. They're an Easter Egger, Barred Rock and I *think* White Rock all crossed with a French Blue Copper Maran.

My assisted hatch (aka, Runt) has calmed down once he had a bath and I changed up his 'sandals'. I opted to just wrap the middle and outside toe, since that's where the problem is. He has been VERY quiet ever since.

Send pipping vibes to our house, hey?

I do hope that yours hatch! I have been checking the incubator every 5 min since morning.

Currently:
Hatched = 1 bantam
Pipped = 9 (8 bantams, 1 LF)
Rolling/Moving Not Pipped = 2 more bantams

So 12 chicks are alive and early for schedule in my 51 egg incubator.

2 of the 9 pips are on the small end. I'm not sure I like that very much

OK, question.... Monday was day 21. At lock down 36 eggs were wiggling and alive. Nothing happened til day 23. Temps and humidity were dead on the entire time. Still air at 100 humidity at 55% til lockdown, then 60-65 til last night.
I have 5 healthy fluffy butts, one pip externally and died. The others don't show any signs of anything. Can figure out what happened.... I have the second bat or to hatch in 4 days and I'm worried...what if I have the same issue? This is my second "failure", my first 3 hatches were AWESOME. These eggs were from the exact same birds as the others...
