May Hatch-a-Long!

Pics
Cynthia- thanks for the encouragement! I hope some hatch overnight!

Farmer viola- wow! How many babies do you have? They are adorable!

Question (yes another one! Lol) one of my ees pipped in the middle.. maybe a little closer to the point. Should I fret?

I just finished building my brooder box and as I was posting this picture I hear peeps coming from one of the eggs! It's only day 19! It's exciting to hear those first little baby
400
peeps!

I am on MO/IA border almost. These temps get me worried lately. But doing ok with the fluff balls. Up to 23 hatched completely still have a few that might come. Great colorful bunch. 1 real cool red colored chick I like, no feather footers this batch yet. BYM and some pure BA.

I got some pictures but by no means the best or the last.

A few more are still in the 2nd hatcher fluffing up. Will wait 24-36 hours to make sure any late comers are able to hatch. Then a break until the 24th, I think. But will be setting tomorrow. Haven't seen any rose comb in the bunch either and I have 4-5 SLW hens, maybe just didn't get any that day I set them. Oh well I have permission to hatch ANYTHING I want. LOL

I wonder if the wife truly knows what she gave me permission to do. Good luck on all those still hatching.

Any action going on? Zipping yet?

Wouldn't worry about this until tomorrow. Watch and see if the pip gets any bigger. Listen for chirps. Movement. If it hasn't made any improvement by tomorrow afternoon, I would be assisting. That is pretty close to the end. Not quite in the middle..at least from what I am seeing. Now watch, it will be the one to hatch tonight. Ya never know. :) Silkies can have a hard time turning at times though, if they have high vaulted heads.

I cant sleep! God love you for all the advice.
The egg with the pip near the point is an easter egger and she did make the pip bigger. This is the only egg I can see into a little bit. I wonder what I am seeing.. looks yellow (I dont think that is membrane?)
With a black stripe in the yellow. Feather color? Hm. I have no clue.
DH and I can hear a lot of chirping .. it makes us giddy. We just hover over the bator talking to them. Come on out, sweet baby!
So... lots of chirps and pips... 7 pips now.
No zipping. I havent caught any movement or wiggling. Humidity 67 temp 100

Oh, I am seeing some progress there. And you have that many pips now? That's a good sign. Things happening all at once like that is a good thing. Your humidity is up because of all of the pips. Wait until they hatch! The temp is ok. Good luck. I hope to wake up in the morning to hear all of the good news! And oh yes, EE being yellow with black..very possible. Little chipmunk markings probably.

Thanks again Cynthia! I have a chick! The first egg that pipped is now the first chick that hatched! It is a silkie! Oh yay! (DH woke me up all excited. Hehe)

So happy to hear it - it's a cute one!

I'm beginning to think my hatch is nearly over. 2 more are zipping, but there are no more pips... I have 27, soon to be 29, babies out of 51 eggs. Not bad considering I never weeded out any undeveloping/infertile and many were purchased/shipped.

Since today is Day 21, I wonder if I should candle the remaining eggs. Or pip them just to see.

I have 20 motionless and unpipped eggs in the incubator on morning of Day 21. What if they have a problem? Should I try candling them?
