May hatch along :)

We're expecting our very first eggs ever to hatch on May 3rd or 4th. Any born on the the 4th have to be Star Wars themed husband said

(May the Fourth be With You).

We have three types setting: Hedemora, Isbar, and a few backyard mixes from my in-laws just to fill the incubator. We just candled about an hour ago and saw 5/8 Hedemora embryos jumping around. The rest, because of their shell pigment, were harder to tell. Some didn't look fertile. We only had the rooster running with them for about 3 days so I think we'll try again for a week this time and try again.

Candled tonight on day 17! The Hedemora eggs we'd marked on day 9 were developing nicely. The 6 barnyard mixes seemed to be doing well. Out of 10 Isbar only 2 looked viable :/ We weeded out the quitters (2 shipped Hedemora) and the remaining didn't look fertile.

We're leaving our roosters in with the females longer this time which hopefully will help fertility. Lockdown tomorrow!

Sorry to hear about your Isbar, but other than that u sound as if you have a reasonably good chance for a few chicks :D good luck !!
