May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Yes, Im finding the more I read, the more confused I am. I'm pretty good at following directions but WOW. I think it's time to stop unless I run into a snag.

I almost just freaked out. I've had my incubator set and warming for two days to get it ready for eggs tonight. I just walked by and glanced at it and temp said 112! I called my son and sure enough, he'd turned it up to see how high it would go. I had to give him the "don't tough Mom's things" speech...he's 28!

OMG I would have snapped.....lol All my kids and grands KNOW, you do NOT touch the incubator!!!!

And it has begun! I received my bantam barred rock eggs in the mail today

. This is my second go because I got 1/13 last time...and it was a rooster -_-.

So as of tomorrow I will have:
10 d'Anvers
14 bantam BRs

Saturday I get my big load of eggs from our local poultry swap! There will be around 3 dozen coming from there. The crazy spring hatching madness has begun!

No he's not. But since he was visiting at my house I decided not to...then he'd have to stay lol!

LOL - Can we say strict! Okay I have to admit I'm only a few years older than 28 myself and my parents would have grounded me just to have the grandkids around!! I've always heard people say that if they could have had grandchildren first then they would not have had children - it's sad when you see that it's possibly true.

Well - I couldn't wait till tomorrow so I just loaded my 26 eggs into the bator - should hatch May 16th or 17th.

I'm hopping in. Just put 10 mailed eggs under my broody Cochin Brunhilda aka Hildy. Got attacked even doing it in the dark. But she'll be happy once she realizes she actually has eggs.

I do have to admit though - I would have flipped out if my bator temp was showing 112 - Good thing you had not put the eggs in yet.

Giving it a shot! Loaded 16 of barnyard mix into my homemade incubator! Keeping my fingers crossed! Wish me luck
