May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

Good Morning,
One out so far. Think it was El Pollo that said it is the scout

One pip and one really weird egg cracked almost all the way around at about 1/2 way up the egg but no pip?

Remember jm,mine should have gone into lockdown Monday.........locked down a day late.
Going to be a busy thread for sure today..

the 6th photo is the honey like stuff that had one of my chicks stuck in the shell, it was so covered in this stuff, some one told me it was a sticky hatch,,,,,,and i lost one due to him hatching withhis brain on the outside os his head, it was crazy never seen anything like that. and i have a older chic that has his top beak broke off will it grow back, will post pic if needed . and the last photo on here is my favorite bar far, my likl angel we gonna call him lucky!!!!

. The beak will probably not grow back , but there is a thread here some where that addresses cross beak and other deformities it might help give you a idea whats up

Man I take a few hours off of the thread to get some work done and all you guys start hatching chicks like pop corn lol good luk to all , as of this morning my emergency lock down bator has only one roller another day or so I suspect and broody #2 is also a day late but I may have the day wrote down in the book wrong by a day or so,,, plus the kids find a broody and they start stuffing eggs under for days so it's wait and see here

I went back and looked at my book and I set mine at 11pm on the 25th. So I dont expect any action till I get sound asleep tonight......LOL

I set mine at 9 pm on 25 and wasn't expecting until tonight. Lol but have 8 of 15 hatched

So encouraging to see everyone's pips and zips and early good news. Gives me some hope this time. My temps have been all over the place this week, and I discovered the turner unplugged last night, no idea for how long. Due to hatch May 23.

First 2 hatches with shipped eggs gave me 5 each, so about 15% hatch rate. Pretty normal I would think. Lastvweek's hatch was zilch but those shipped eggs were scrambled and very late arriving.

Apparently the chicks don't read the hatching instructions - I set 26 eggs on Apr. 26th around 2PM - I have several pipped - one is trying to zip - and the rest of the eggs are wiggling and chirping at each other - they are driving me NUTS! I have been checking the bator about every 15 minutes.

Then on top of all of that going on - I have 13 eggs set to hatch on the 30th - 6 eggs set to hatch on the 2nd of June - and the power just went OFF!! Thankfully it came back on within a minute - not sure what happened - but I hope it doesn't do that again

- I think my heart dropped all the way to my feet out of fear for my chicks. PLUS - my cochin bantam, Muffin, is brooding 6 eggs as of yesterday (this is her first time)!!
