May Hatch Thread--Fill up those bators n' broodies!

I cracked open 3 last night that had obvious blood rings and blood clot/spots. All 3 were dead, but almost 100% ready

Then a few minutes ago my cat started spazzing out to get in the bedroom, and I heard chirping. I thought maybe a bird was in the house (my house is currently torn to pieces because of the flood and storms) but I walked in and one of my Marans is hatching!!! If none else hatch then I'll pick up a friend for him but after such a horrid week, this really made me smile

Yipeeeeeeeeeeee one is better than none!!!

THE OES IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!

Well some of you from the April Hatch thread know that we had a pretty bad time of it. No chicks and slow cooked scrambled egg!!!!

We even thought I might end up with LIZARDS because we simply had no idea what the eggs were that turned up as they were Blue and the ordered eggs should have been white.

Well guys the incubator is wiped down and ready to roll and something wonderful happened this morning. NO eggs have been ordered from anywhere and yet in the post this very morning a box arrived and DH and I thought my that looks like badly packed eggs!!!!! We opended the tape that read fragile and there inside were six - YES 6 very lovely looking little WHITE EGGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are now on my dinning room table and so we will candle them to see if anything has a blood ring or looks damaged before we pop them into the BATOR - OMG can you believe that we got eggs and didn;t even complain to anyone about the last batch or even order new ones? I hope these were not the original ones lost in the post for 4 weeks????? Ummmmmm

They are however WHITE not BLUE and none were scrambled in the box this time!

OES is happy!!!!! Maybe they are albino LIZARD EGGS???????? OMG I still have no idea what I am hatching!

I set my 20 shipped hedemora eggs today. I have never seen the parent flock at all ,just recieved them in the mail from a swedish breeder so it's gonna be fun to see how their features are as the hedemora breed comes in so many variations.

Here they are right after being disinfected.I think I'm going to keep them in the eggtray all the way through the hatch, their air-cells were pretty loose. What do you guys think? For how long should I wait before I turn?

I am in I have babies hatching as we speak, I just went out and found two eggs (black bantam silkies) cracking!!! Yea and 90 in incubator hatching by May 25th!!!

Nugget is drying off and taking a well-deserved nap. In the meantime... Apple, the wheaten/blue wheaten ameraucana, has pipped!!! AND Flufferhead, the White Silkie has also pipped! I am beyond eggstatic!!!!

They say a minimum of 3 days max of 7. I candle when they arrive, then at 3, and every day after till the aircell becomes more stable.

I had three hatch yesterday, two Norwegion Jaerhorns, and a Dominique. Today I am adding more. More NJ's and Dom's plus some orps, Yeh. I have out only two orps so far but more have pipped. Whew!!!! I was beginning to worry. The Jaerhons are finished hatching and I think the Dom's are too, but I have quite a few of the orps left. The orps were by mail order. The others hand picked up. Only a few of the Doms.(5) were set. The num. of Jaerhons were only 7 set also. The orps were 8 each of white and lav.
Total out so far. Jaerhons, 5, Dom 2, orps- lav-1...White--1 So far more to go. Many more pips. I will be glad when they finish. My nervous system is shot. Whew!!!! Not to mention that the hatcher is beginng to smell Yuck. Do any of you have that problem? Esp. after two days of hatching.
