Not good news. I went to move cows, came back both chicks were dead. **** thats $240 down the drain!
Well, took a nap...body not cooperating today. Might have something to do with
the Dr. saying REST..................and having a disabled DH, 70 or so chickens, a hatch requiring help this time,
and a garden full of flowers...(almost out of room for vegies)![]()
Anyway, woke up to two more Buffs, a zip and a pip..............
I helped the pip from yesterday and it looked a lot like Jaqc's picture.........still had veins.
So took the top partly off and put it back in the inc..........
Looks like I may end up with about a 50% hatch.
That is O.K. with me. Many of the eggs were my own. I did not write the date of collection
on them but am certain several were way to old.
I am so enjoying this thread...........Feels like friends.............................![]()
True, and I was just thinking, the heating element dries out the confined air, broodies however do not. I just keep reading soooo many conflicting things, this is truly a balance of so many factors, a real miracle.I am assuming the moisture from her skin and the environment
Well sounds like the internal pipper is alive ? Good deal ! I hope it's a wonky so you will have sucsess with at least one or two ,,, how did the airport run go ? I'm gonna pull up and head for town to finish up that breeding pen and get it out here today so it will be availible for the broody when she hatches today I hope today lol I'll check in from the shop the kids are home to keep a eye on the bator in lock down so the will text me any updates if something goes but I'm not holding out any hope talk to all you guys a lil later good luck and happy hatching ciao
Well it was just a crappy day. And no hubby to console me. Airport run went fine. Hubby is in VA smoochin on our 2 grand daughters they are 2 yrs old and almost 6 months old. Got cows moved, found a new calf, 95lb heifer, got her tagged. Took a little ride looking for coyote signs, found way too many, I always ride "armed" wish I could get the chance to tag one, got my aprons in for my hens. I need to post a pic of that....lol At least I have Tuesday to look forward to!
