Thank you for sharing that picture, it is amazing the positions some of them find to sleep in.
Then when you wake them they can pop right up and run around.
If I slept in some of those positions, it would be a half a day before I could walk right

We have been putting the quail eggs in the bator well today my son (9) brought me today's eggs. I told him to give me one cuz I was going to boil it and eat it. Well well did I say the wrong thing. See he knows they are fertile and knows out of that egg pops a baby so he teared up quick and begged me not to. So he wine the egg is safe and sound in the bator. Thanks summer break. Lol

I hatch six or seven bator loads of my Barn yard mix free range flock every year I only have one good roo who takes care of flock and all are super foragers and good layers so I sell off the cockerels and turn the hens back into the group they are a good bunch of birds and the place would not be the same without them ,,,, lol

did they all finish up Jim ? How were your numbers minus the stinkers ?

Started with 100 shipped eggs. Had three stinkers, and 45 that either were clear or early quitters. Went into lockdown with 52. As of this morning, I am at 30 chicks so I am more than happy. I have 3 quail cages that I like to keep 1 male to 3 or 4 hens in, so I should have them filled soon!.

Day 22 and nothing is happening - it seems like it is going to be another dud run. I am sooo upset about all of this, it is now the third setting of eggs without any chicks in 2 years. - We set 2yrs back 6 cream crested legbars and last month 6 unknown random and this month 6 what we assume to be Dorkings - none have given us chicks. I did hope to find babies in the bator when I got home today but again zilch. I think these are dead and that spike killed them.

I would luv to have them here but I just don't have the pen space to dedicate too many chickens and a few Turks in the mix
