May I use herbal oil as a chicken food?

I see that my chickens love uncooked oil.

I thought of making my owl herbal oil for them by using a bottle filled with oil and herbs like oregano, green tea, graminace, princess tree leaves, sage, eucalyptus, garlic, onion and apple vinegar.

A friend of mine uses it and his chicken are so healthy.

What is your opinion?

Some of that stuff makes pretty decent organic wormer (garlic and onion) and apple cider vinegar has some good qualities, but I don't know much about the rest of it. But pumpkins are a much more convenient wormer.

Do you feel it's worth the effort? Then go for it.

EDT: but I would research what each of the herbs do before adding them.

I wouldn't supplement fat like that without a reason.

For instance, during our two week artic cold my birds were supplemented sunflower seeds. Very high in fat content and only done so during that cold period.

it is risky as it can get mold. you can mix it if you are going to consume it all within 24-48 hours.

I use herbs for mite control, coop cleaning and feeding..works perfectly for me so if your gang like herbs and oil then then why not make them a herb cake..nothing wrong with a bit a cake on a Sunday

I use veg oil, minced clove garlic, herbs ( not all herbs are poultry friendly) and porridge oats

My fav Chicken friendly herbs
Herbs:

• Comfrey.
• Fennel.
• Thyme.
• Lavender.
• Nasturtium.
• Rosemary.
• Sage.
• Wormwood.

You can throw in a few meal worms ..sunflower seeds ..corn..whatever your gang like...after all it’s a treat cake!

Pop in Fridge to set or just feed as a mushy cake ..
