No worries Kim. The PO has been extra hard on eggs lately. A lot of my shipped eggs have messed up air cells. I set them for a while without turning them and sometimes that helps. I'm hoping your set from Karen does well.

the good news is, my missing hen wasn't possum bait, just being broody. she was out scrounging this morning when hubby got up to let everyone else out.

My hatches have been a little disappointing this month. 1 swap didn't have any develop. 2 had 2 develop but not hatch. The last from Babymakes6 had all but 2 make it to lockdown last night along with all but 1 from a side swap with Contrastphoto. I had a lot of initial development on eggs from a side swap with Cheryl Cohen.

Let me know what you get! I am glad to hear that almost all of them developed at least! Hope you get a couple of hens for your tom!.

I had 6 fully developed of the Crested Cream Legbars from CJWaldon. Four of them hatched-two males and two females!

One didn't even pip internally, another pipped at the wrong end. When I tried to help, it was doing fine, but the veins still were full of blood. I wrapped it in a warm wet washcloth and put it back in the incubator. One of the other chicks must have knocked the washcloth over the hole and it suffocated.

I think I will set up two pens-one for each pair. Then I can hatch chicks from each pair and cross them back to each other to get a diversified line going.
My lone turkey egg is due to hatch next Monday, I believe.

I hatched 4 BCM's from Coldupnorth. None of my Americanas hatched

I hatched 3 Welsummer girls from Silkymom1986 (Thanks). My other swap eggs didn't fair as well. Three of the gamefowl eggs made it to lockdown but didn't hatch

However, two of the quail hatched

It is amazing how these eggs can be so fragile and yet so resilient at the same time. One of my Andalusian eggs was cracked pretty bad at the pointy end and I didnt catch it until I was moving them to the hatcher. The little guy was moving around so I put it in lockdown as is in a basket by itself. Three days later my little beauty popped into the world

I had 1 hatch from my swap eggs... about half died early on... the others made it to lock down and died... i did get 4 of mine to hatch... maybe next time... =)

For some reason, Iowa Blues can be hard to hatch. Sorry you didn't get more.

I hatched one of your IBs and still waiting on the other egg...I know there's a chick in there somewhere!! lol Also, 2 of the Ameracaunas (which are hubbys new faves) and all the RIRs you sent.

I'm hoping your next batch I send has better luck!!!

I want more IBs though!!!!! Need some friends for our new baby!!

Only 2 eggs of 7 from one partner has made it thus far, still waiting, time isn't up yet so we'll see..and lost several from the other partner...and they were LAVS!!! I really wanted those 'purple' chickens!

But we had almost 45 eggs in the incy along with the rest so we still did ok.
