Maybe the dumbest question I have ever had to ask.

Thanks, y'all! I have just been out playing with "the kids" as my 11 year old calls them.
They seem to like to have things to hop on and off but they are just starting to make a jump for the roof to try and get out! Guess it's time to make sure the brooder's wire has no gaps in it!
The cricket idea is great! I think I will send the kiddo on a bug hunt. Keep all my kids busy for a bit!

So I read this and went out to collect a little grass for the ducks and chicks in my brooder. While out there I saw a little green grasshopper and caught it and put it in the brooder too with the grass. Every time the grasshopper jumps the chicks all go crazy. They are just terrified of it, lol. The duck have tried to eat it several times though, so far they haven't killed it yet though.
