I am an exclusively breast-feeding, full-time working new(ish, I had Everleigh in December) Mom... and I pump 3 times a day to be able to continue exclusively breast-feeding.

Today... I dropped an entire pumping sessions worth all over my desk, and my clothes.

I Have never felt more defeated... I literally cried over spilled milk.

Could really use a hug since no one in my office understands why its so important to me anyways that I would "waste" my breaks and lunch to pump instead of formula feed.

Oh, I'm sorry that happened to you! YOU GO GIRL! So many healthy benefits for the baby and you too....I could never do it myself...I envy you!

WOW. I would be devastated. Anyone who's never breastfed (or pumped) has no idea the amount of time and effort and love that went into collecting that lil' bit of liquid gold for your baby. And then to have soaking wet clothes the rest of day, and have to mop it up from your desk too? After what was surely a sleep-deprived night, and probably at least half of a stressful workday, with raging new-mama hormones? I'd be crying buckets.

You have my sympathies, even if your co-workers are heartless trolls. Hope that helps a smidge.

oh sweetie..it happens!!

I was a breastfeeding counselor for a while at the local healthy dept for WIC...and I breastfed my 2 youngest exclusively....I've been there, done that..seen stuff like that done...

you are NOT wasteing your breaks...you are giving your child one of the most important and loving gifts that you can EVER GIVE ...

formula; what ppl dont understand is chemically made...breastmilk is completely natural and automatically changes to whatever
needs your baby has... are they preemies? guess what? breastmilk changes to give the preemies what it naturally needs...
are they crawling? it has automatically changed its properties to give a more active baby the nutrients it needs etc..

with formula; its a one-canvased- need drink...

You will ALWAYS have my support...ALWAYS...pm me if you ever have questions about BF'ing and or want support!!

I agree you are NOT wasting your time! You are providing a strong foundation for the health of your child. YOU are the only person on the planet that is capable of providing that for her!! Congratulations on being such a wonderful dedicated mom that it actually hurts your feelings when you mess up

Oh man! That sucks. A lot of people don't get how much work pumping is. I exclusively breastfed both of my kids (4 years total). Yes, I'm one of those people. I decided when I had my first baby that I would let him decide when he wanted to be done. He decided right around 1 1/2 years. My daughter on the other hand had to be beaten off with a stick! It really is a wonderful thing your doing for your baby. And just try to remember that in a couple of months that baby will be eating a little food here and there and before you know it, you won't need to pump anymore. I was really lucky that I come from a family of breastfeeders, my MIL nursed both her kids, even my step-MIL so they all understood. But it can be really tough if you're a trend-setter. So many people have a really poor attitude when it comes to breastfeeding. It's what we were meant to do and good for you for doing it!

i'd say mama milk is the ONLY milk worth crying over. anyone that has exclusively nursed understands and those that haven't should shut up! i'm so sorry for your loss and your stress and i'd give you a big hug.
