McDonald's Drive Thru Rant *Rawr*

OMG, i have to add.. I was at BK last night with hubby and didn't want to cook as i don't have A/C. so we stopped.. it was soooo hot and muggy. and i had just worked 10+ hours in the blistering heat in the factory.. so i didn't want to cook. anyway, at the main part to order.. they asked us to wait.. so we waited about 5 mins, then he asked what we wanted.. and we only said one line and asked us to wait again. then we finally got to order about 5 more mins later.. then pulled up.. wait wait wait. asked to pull ahead to the yellow poles so he could bring it out to us.. ugh.. so we did.(we have no A/c in our car either and i was already icky feeling and my heart was pounding and i thought i was goign to die...) so we waited a total of about 15 or so mins for our "fast" food. so we were there close to 20 mins. for three WHOPPERS with cheese, and a handful of cold fries. how does that justify waiting in the stifling heat... IT DOESN'T!

I had a problem with a McDonald's near our town (actually it's the closest one so we go there if we want Mickey D's) and I did end up waiting, but the manager apopogized and asked me if I would please call on the survey and give them good ratings because everyone always calls and gives them bad ratings. I was like ??? Found out from a neighbor it's because it's the filthiest McDonald's for 60 miles! Everyone I know that goes there is disgusted. So now if I want McDonald's we go to Danville which is 30 miles from where we live. And yes, I've had to wait in their drive thru too...

by the time i got the food i was feeling light headed and just wanted to get driving to get the air moving in the car. there was nooooo air movement whatso ever. so i was ready to LEAVE NOW! we don't go there too often and more times then not it's been a bad experience. i won't be going again, that's for sure.

I don't know about your McDonalds but here the workers are not all teenagers. When we went there were 5 women getting the orders together. Only one of them was young and she did just stand there looking up at the boards like she couldn't read. But there were two managers there working as well. I realize you have to wait and I understand when things run out but when 10 minutes after I order someone comes up and orders a 6 pack of chicken nuggets and get their order before me when that is part of our order I do get mad. We don't usually go to McDonalds but granddaughter prefers the Happy Meal there to BK so what can ya do.

This thread reminds me of my first job working at a mom & pop burger joint. We had a drive up window, but it wasn't really drive through. It was a walkup place and the drive up just let people wait in their cars instead of standing. They understood that. I can't imagine making anyone wait for 40 minutes though.

BTW I was a teenager making $3.35/hour. My manager was making $3.35/hour too.

I do have to say I've had some pretty bad service in sit down restruants. The worst was a Perkins. They took our order at a shift change and misplaced it. When they finally found the orders, they started working through them in backwards order. Ours was way down on the list even though we should have been ahead. It took an hour and a half to serve us. This was a Denny's.

all restraunts are different, some of more strict than others, the one I work at, everyone are druggies, and smoke, even the managers...they arn't the best...but still, as I said it does take TIME to cook, NONE of it is already cooked.

That's why they work at McDonalds! LOL!!
