McDonald's Drive Thru Rant *Rawr*

I am certain the orders you put in thru the drive thru would go elsewhere. I saw that episode somewhere that it goes to the main central that types in the orders. They try to put out food by the time you finish ordering your menu to the time you get your food within 3 minutes. I think it was on the Food Network.

Our McDonald's isn't too bad, but it drives me crazy when they ask me if I want ketchup or I tell them I want it and then they don't put it in the bag. I even ask and they tell me it is in there to only pull away and find out it is not. Don't ask me if you don't want to give it to me anyway!

The biggest problem with having to wait for your food is that they don't tell you there is a wait until AFTER they have your money. We should at least have a right to decide if we want to wait or not.

I absolutely refuse to go to our Sonic or KFC. They mess up orders more times than they get them right and I have quit giving them my business. I have called headquarters on them repeatedly and they want to send me coupons. If I just called to tell you the problem and that I wasn't returning to the store why would I need coupons? Please keep them.

The bottom line is, you advertise as FAST food. Waiting forever does not mean fast food to me! And if you don't want to give me what I ordered, then don't ask me to begin with what I want!

Friend of my mom had ordered a large sweet tea and .99 cent sandwich at McDs. Well she pulls out a five dollar bill and hands it to the lady. The lady proceeds to hand her the receipt then quickly closes the window. My mom's friend sits there for a second, looks at the receipt and taps of the window. The lady opens the window and meekly asks whats the matter. Friend shows her the receipt and points to the almost three dollars she was suppose to get back in change.

The window lady's answer : I thought you might want to help me feed my kids.

You know what? My first job was the McDonald's drive through. Only when I worked the drive through, you paid and were given your order at the same window. We didn't take people's money up front and then give them crap service and make it even more of a hassle to get your refund when you decided that you'd had enough. We never ever made people pull up in the drive through and wait. If the drive through line was too long, then people could just drive down the street and hit another drive through. My chicken was grilled. 5 minutes, 8 minutes at the most but I waited 14 minutes past the point of being asked to pull up, and I had been parked while watching about 30 cars pull up, get their orders and leave while I continued to sit and wait. That's crap service in my opinion. The lady in front of me thought so too.

I love KFC too, but it is overpriced, they charge you 75 cents to use your debit card and still get my order wrong if I go in. The last time I was there I went in to make sure my order was right, when I pointed out that is wasn't, the guy had the nerve to argue with me! No more. Once when I went through the drive through late one evening I had to wait on my food because they were all gathering around the pizza boy who had delivered them a pizza from Pizza Hut!

its not just fast food that sucks. I check each and every order I get for any kind of take out now. I have had Denny's, Ihop, mexican, chinese, italian, burger, fish and pretty much about every fast food establishement mess my order up at one time or another.

Yes - I eat out far too often. the few places that have never messed up - I still check their orders too. Its not a matter of if they will mess up - its a matter of when will they mess up. Some times it works out for you too.

One time i got an extra order of prawns at my chinese place. I love prawns - But I still called them to notify them someone did not get what they expected. I would have returned the prawns if they had wanted me too - I did ask.

anyway - you want to be sure your food is right, do it your self.
as far as waiting - I have been asked to wait many times. I generally do it. But you know - i get asked too often and I think i may need to start refusing to go out front and wait. If you cant get my food to me without making me wait out front - maybe you should just refund my money.

makes sense to me - and always check your order.

Where was the manager in all this? Was it a birthday party???????

DH and I gave up on fast food. We pack our lunches, always have some backup in the freezer for when we don't want to cook.

When I take a road trip, which I often do, I take a cooler with food and drinks. It's so much easier, and cheaper, too.

We started this because of poor customer service and what we felt was inferior quality food.

I don't feel that the people working the window or counter should get all the blame though- it all comes down to poor management.
