ordered 25 Cornish cross...they shipped Sunday morning before the holiday. I go the call this morning from the post office. Then a second call a half an hour later saying, "come get it now, it stinks."
The 25 Cornish cross and a black unidentifiable chick were in a 10x10 x 10 box. 8 were alive and pecking at the carcasses of the other birds. The stench from the flattened, matted, pecked open birds was horrendous. I didn't count to see if there were 18 dead because it was one connected, flat mess of chick fuzz, feet, beaks and flies.
My first experience with them was so different. Got 6 4 week old pullets, came from Texas not Iowa...a family farm. The box was too big...had watermelon and cucumber for hydration..a letter about the fruit and a questionnaire along with a text number....
This shipment this morning was disturbing. Supposedly a reshipment will take place this coming Monday...unless I find a different place beforehand and just ask for a refund.
