I also have two that seem to always be holding one wing way down lower than the one on the other side. Anyone else have a similar symptom?

My sick chicks are no worse this morning but really no better either. I spoke with MM this morning. They will refund my money or replace my Dominiques. They are aware of the problem but had no answers for me. They were concerned and courteous. They said to continue with electrolytes and terramycin (was typo at 12:00 AM).
It could not be West Nile (in my case). It is too cold and too early for mosquitoes, plus the chicks have not left the kitchen.

It is crazy here with lambing, calving, shearing and seed starting. Sick chicks is the last thing we need.

That was one of the first signs I noticed along with a tucked-in tail, I mean like a dog with it's tail tucked between it's legs not just druppy. It seemed to be always only on one side or the other.

I posted earlier regarding my "mystery chick" and see the same chick in the picture of the "sick McMurry sick chicks" with an arrow saying "standard EE"....what does the EE stand for, and my mystery will be solved! (Still have not figured out how to post pictures here...and I was in computer programming 13 years ago...

EE means Easter Egger. That is a breed that lays colored eggs and a lot of hatcheries use them as mystery chicks. You can get a pack of 25 and not one of them will look alike. Good luck. Jenn

A friend of mine received chicks the first week of March. They were vaccinated. She has had similar problems, and we have been chatting back and forth for about a week now about this. I MAY have lost one chick to this (mine were vaccinated) but I received my chicks the end of Feb, and the 4 I lost died so quickly that I couldn't tell you for sure what they died of. She called and talked to MMH this morning, and was told that it was a bad vaccine batch, and as far as she could tell, isolated to the chicks shipped around the first week of March. She said they were very nice, very cooperative, and refunded her losses, even though it's been more than 48 hours.

In my opinion, McMurray is a very reputable company, and my dealings with them have been nothing but courteous and compassionate. This sort of thing could have happened to ANYONE, and as someone pointed out, they have not been around for so long by selling sick chickens. I've also been in customer service enough to know that, in this day and age of split-second communications, that something like this could seriously impact their business. However, it is also my belief that it is how they respond to this situation that will make or break them more than the issue itself.

For me, they have responded well, and have made good on their promise of live, healthy chicks. Remember, when you call them, that they have probably been inundated by calls lately - I'd be a little cranky, too.

Be calm, be nice, and I'm sure they will make it right.

My condolences to those of you who have lost chicks... it is heartbreaking in any circumstance.

Just heard from the Vet. She sent two chicks to UW via overnight. I guess we will know by the end of the week what's going on .
So far, these chicks have cost me over $200, just to see what is wrong. That doesn't include the chicks or the bag of feed I've gone thru or all this time and trouble.
