Welcome to BYC.
Sounds like this boy's hormones have hit.

Is the hen bleeding?
Can you get a few pictures her injuries?

Have you tried wetting a small amount of feed to see if she will eat that?
Yes, her head is bleeding and she can't open her eyes. I left some mealy worms near her and halves of grapes. Need to look if she's ate them. Will see if I can figure out how to add the picture. ...

It's a little hard to tell how bad the injury is from these photos.

You can apply some antibacterial ointment on it... Something like Neosporin will work.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
Are you sure the cockerel did the damage and not the other pullets?
How much space does your flock have?
I'm not positive but fairly sure it was him. They are free range and sleep on top of big fenced pen in the horse barn. When I first found her she was laying up on the little bin on barn wall near roost area. It's where most lay their eggs. I had to shoo the rooster away.

The attachments would not open for me. I'm just curious how you know the cockerel inflicted this injury. You say he has not been mean to the hens, so why do you think he is to blame? Could a raccoon have gotten hold of her and tried to pull her through the fence? Do the hens squabble at all? I would not be too quick to put him in a cook pot unless I was sure he was to blame.

They sleep out in the open? Could have been an owl.

If you're not positive it was the cockerel, it's a bit early to play the crock pot card. He may have been staying with her to protect her.

Yep. Of the older 4 hens this one was the leader. And one of the young hens has been picked on a bit more by the rooster. I thought she was molting but has been roosting on the stairs going up into barn loft vs. on top of the pen/coop where all the rest still go at night.
