UPDATE ON MEAN ROOSTERS
yippiechickie.gif

We moved the 3 mean roosters out of the pen today... OEGB Bantam is back in his cage, the 2 BO roosters are in a penned in area off our chicken run. Left the nice rooster Charlie in the the girls, so far so good. While I was sittin in the run 3 different hens came and sat in my lap, I was shocked, its was really nice!

Jen,,Invite your family over for a chicken dumplin dinner, and invite the neighbors,,,having to keep the roosters in a pen is not good, but dumplins sure are

I have the same problem well my neighbor does at least hes a BO and hes very mean and aggressive he used to be the boss but then cookie the other rooster took charge and earl the mean one had to be separated fro the hens and cookie. I have tried everything to make him nice but he wont budge. I have fed him by hand and even let him have 1 hen. threir's 8 hens all together but i think earl just gets aggressive when we let him have one. He used to be in a big caged alone for 3 months but my neighbor and i felt bad to we let him else but we put a leash on him. He just heads straight to cookies cage and starts fighting Thur the wire. EVerytime the hens and cookie are out earl and cookie start fighting. I always pick him up and he seemed to be nice and i tried today and he pecked me and sized me up and kicked me i kick him back to show whos boss but he doesnt get it. PLEASE HELP and killing him is not an option. ANY advice at all would help

Well, unfortunately I think you see the answer in the previous posts, freezer camp or re-homing are probably the only options to your current dilemma. After you've had chickens for a while, you'll find that there is just no reason to live with that kind of behavior. There are so many nice roosters out there, and life is so much more peaceful with one of them that it becomes easier and easier to get rid of the A--holes.
When looking for a nice bird, you might want to consider the breed you are looking for, some of these guys can't help themselves it's in their genes. Not really fair to axe a guy when he's only doing what he was bred to do.

We have teenagers... that run and think its funny when one of the roosters are coming after them.

This may be how the roosters learned to act aggressively.

Sounds like you'll be getting rid of these roosters. If you do decide to get another rooster than perhaps you should observe someone who has peaceful roosters. Note how they interact with their roosters.
