MeanCheek's Flock

Wow, those colors! What kind of pigeon is this? (I really know noting about pigeons 🤭 )
The breed is a Birmingham Roller (but not very good quality), and I think the color is Light Tortoiseshell or maybe dilute Tortoiseshell.
I can never understand pigeon colors or coturnix colors.
Her and her sister look so similar, I'll get pictures!

Arabian Trumpeter cockerel (sorry about the ugly chicken wire, I'm gradually replacing it)

A hawk just tried for the pigeons. Luckily it was a big Buteo, a Red-tailed I think, not small and maneuverable enough to get a them once they have seen it.
When the pigeons see a hawk, they fly twice as high as usual and go amazingly fast.

Well, you're well beyond my understanding anyway! I didn't even know tortoiseshell was a color in pigeons! They're lovely! :love

Glad your pigeons were able to avoid the hawk, too! Buteo hawks generally aren't great at hunting prey on the wing like most Accipiter hawks are, so luckily the pigeons had the advantage in that case. 🙂
