These are my two Old German Owl Pigeons. The top picture is of the one I've had longer. She has the dark bars on her wings. The bottom picture is of the recent edition, she has red bars on her wings.
They are both the same age, 7, making them my oldest birds.
The dark bared one, Germy, is paired with the Kormorner Tumble behind her. I felt very bad for Germy when I introduced the new OGO because the stupid old Tumbler flew down and him and that new Owl got pretty friendly. Beaking and preening wasn't the worst of it . Usually, pigeons are faithful birds.
That new Owl isn't as old as she looks

Very beautiful animals I especially love the pigeons do you release them and they come home?
They can be let out in the morning and go back in at night just like chooks. With training the homers will be able to come back from as far as 600 miles!!! Sometimes flying as fast as 80mph!!!

Wow that's astonishing! Have you ever had one come back from that far?

These five are my first homers, they are still little. I don't know if I could do that, I think I love them too much.
Les than 50% make it back with wires, hawks, cars, people- all that scary stuff.

Look up "racing pigeons being released" and watch the thousands fly from the big trucks!
