So I been curious as to what everyone does with the blood of their processed birds, I know blood has a lot of nutrients and minerals I was wondering if anyone has mixed it with feed for their laying birds or have any other uses for it other than just dumping it out back.

Ps. This is my first year doing meat birds.

Thanks

In a perfect world, I would compost the blood. Great for the garden. In reality though, I toss it, as it encourages predators to mess with my compost heap, I'm not good at hot composting yet, and the compost heap is close to the chicken coop (don't need more predators to find my chooks if they haven't already). A task for another day...

I wouldn't feed it back to my flock unless I cooked it first due to possible disease. You could boil it or bake it to 175F, the minimum recommended cooking temperature for chicken. Dried blood is great for the garden also.
