Meaties in the Morning!

That looks delicious! Can't wait for my meaties to get big enough. They are my first meat birds and you said something about waiting 3 days---is this for a reason? just checking. . . .

Yes, it is something I learned from BYC members. It is a process that lets rigormortis pass thereby loosening the muscles giving the meat a chance to relax. The most juicy, moist chicken I have ever had!

SWEET!! Nice to see I'm not the only lonely crazy to try this on my own :) I process my first birds July 15th and will do a "trial" run on my own before family and friends get involved. Love them all but I have a feeling chicken plucking will be a lot less of a mess without the helpers...lol

I can't wait. I am taking a few that are at 5 pounds now in next week. I will wait on the others to put on some more weight. Going to try "beer-butt chicken" when they come back. I have a friend who makes this all the time and loves it. So, why not?
I will wait the 3 days before I offer to bring the chickens over for our cook-out.
Thanks
