I love the recycling of campaign signs! My wife and I snagged signs after our area's election. We waited a few days, as each campaign is suppose to have all signs up within 2 days I believe. After that time, we felt they were fair game. They seem to do a good job of holding the heat in and I like the fact that I can just spray them off with the hose after each batch!

What are you using to hold your signs together? We took fencing wire and used them as twist ties at the top and bottom. That way they can rotate. Originally we used duct tape, but that came off as the lamps caused the tape glue to heat up.

Yes, the campaign signs are very useful. In the photo above, I'm using them inside my broiler house. I used the signs to keep them contained in a smaller area. As they grow, I will remove some of the signs and give them more floor space. I'm holding them together with wire ties.

Nice looking chicks. I picked up my first meaties about 10 days ago at ~ 1 week old. I cannot imagine having 100. I only have 17 but I'm in the suburbs.

My chickens from Central Hatchery came today. They happened to be a day late, which wasn't Central's fault, and were all alive, active, LOUD, and ready to eat! Beautiful, strong chicks that cost $99 shipped for 100. My last batch from Central did great and I'm really looking forward to raising these.

Does anyone know where TSC gets there chicks and are the CX's cheaper then layer type.

I talked to them last week and the TSC stores in Ohio get them from Mount Healthy. I picked up a half dozen Golden comets tonight from the feed mill and they got them from Mt. Healthy as well. Seem like nice chicks so far.

Swamp, I got my order from Central and I had 4 extra also!

Two of them look to be RIR cockerels but the other two extra are CX. They've had their first meal of warm buttermilk/starter mash, have learned the nipple waterer without any training on my part and are now drunk on food and warmth. Some are still out in the cool area trying to pick up some of the BOSS I scattered there for entertainment and forage training.

Can't wait to see this batch grow!
