Cocci almost always comes with lethargic chicks and birds who don't want to eat/lose weight. If there are no signs of mal asorption due to cocci damaging their intestines, I personally wouldn't treat.
But if you are treating, just leave the medicated water as their only source of water. No need to force them to drink and no need to give fresh water as they will drink that instead of the meds. Meds are dosed acording to how much a bird ends up drinking for their size. Yogurt is always something good as a treat.
