Meds being taken off the shelf in 2017

I heard that medicated feeds and any antibiotic used for livestock that is not an injection will be removed. Only injected antibiotics will be removed. As for the medicated feeds not sure if it's like chick feeds or if it's antibiotics in feeds. I've heard people say it and I've found a link to it. Here it is http://msue.anr.msu.edu/news/dont_wait_be_ready_new_antibiotic_rules_for_2017
From your link:
water soluble antibiotics, which are important to human medicine now require a prescription from a veterinarian.

What products does the VFD cover?

Medically important antibiotics, which are essential to human medicine as outlined in Guidance Document 213, are being added to the list of drugs being moved to VFD status. This includes products that contain: tetracyclines, lincosamides, macrolides, penicillin, streptogramins, aminoglycosides, aminopenicillins and sulfonamides. The FDA has a complete list of drugs which require a VFD order here.
The list is here:

Oh crap I just noticed I did that wrong. I meant injected antibiotics are suppose to stay. Well whatever what's in the past is in the past. I went through the list but some of them I don't know. There are a few on there that I've heard of, know what's in them based on Latin roots, or know what they are. For example, Amprolium, bye bye medicated feeds over the counter. I though Amprolium was a Probiotic not an antibiotic.

For a newbie, what would be good, basic meds to stock up on?

Thanks,
Ed

Edited: My question really should've been posted in a different thread, but there is actually some very good threads already on the forum that answers my question. I was interested in purchasing some antibiotics while they're still availble and was curious about what I should purchase to have on hand, rather than a full list of meds which is what my original post sounded like. Sorry for the interruption and vague question. As for a basic *first aid kit* I found a wealth of information in the WHAT ARE YOUR CKN FIRST-AID KIT *MUST HAVES*??? thread and in other threads. Again, sorry for the intrusion and thanks to the participants for keeping an eye on this Rx situation.

Quote: Amprolium *will* still be available, and it is not a antibiotic, it's a coccidiostat. Take another look at the list and you'll see a number listed to the left of the medication mentioned, then google that number and you will see that it's a production that contains all the medications listed in that row.
