Meet Cricket..*sigh*

You do like a challenge! Feeding: Switch her food gradually. Mixing gradually increasing parts of TOTW (moistened) to the little Caeser's/Eukanuba. I think that you are right the TOTW kibble is fairly large for such a small dog. Our most recent golden did not react well to any corrective discipline. I could see the possibility of it becoming a behavioral issue. Her personality is definately dominant. In order to correct her, we used the phrase "That's enough." If she didn't correct the behavior, "that's enough" and into the crate. I know the crate is not to be used for punishment, but it worked for this dog. I'd let the cats correct the chasing behavior and hope she doesn't get an eye nicked. She's on her own around the big dogs. Hopefully she'll be smart enough to stay out of their way. Good luck in your new venture. You really are a big softy.

I now understand why MFB is stalking you.

My experience has been that a spray bottle is a phenomenally effective tool in dog training. A quick shot of water won't hurt her at all, but she won't like it. We rescued a basset hound in September. She is a terror when it comes to food (who knew a dog with such short legs could still grab things off of the table and counter tops with no problem?). If she is circling the table and we grab the spray bottle, she just slinks away. She hates getting squirted.

#1 - Chicken in the food. Try buying a can of pre-cooked chicken, like in a tuna can. Add a little to the food, & put in a little less, & less, until she doesn't miss it.

# 2 - A loud noise, like a balloon popping, or spoon on pan, or something that gets her attention out of play mode, then say no. It won't take but a few loud noises & no's to get it.

#3 - Stilts

#4 - The cats will teach the puppy. Don't worry about that one.

Remember, it's a puppy, & very trainable.

I will probably get slack for suggesting loud noise, but I don't care......It works!

Hi! I know! It IS a hard decision to keep her or not. I just want whats best for her. And with my other 2 huge dogs, i'm not sure she'd be safe here...
Shes like 5 lbs and my male weighs 170lbs... soo... some serious injury could happen.
But..i see folks with tiny dogs living big dogs ALL the time. HOW do they do it? BUT they dont have my evil bad luck either..

I dont really want her to go to anyone that i dont KNOW well either.... *sigh*

@ Stilts..

Chicken in a can sounds like a good idea... i'll try to wean her down that way.
Loud noise also sounds like a good option... anything to get her out of that crazy terrier/terror mode when shes focused on being a little stinker..
lol.png

Maybe i'll get a can with pennies in it and see how she reacts...
Thanks!

I don't know how your big dogs will do with her.
But I fostered a Great Dane and a Yorkie at the same time... The Dane knew to be gentle and they played very well together, slept together too.
I have a friend who has 2 danes, 2 mastiffs, 1 German shepherd, and 3 yorkies all under one roof. And yes I do mean that literally, they all live indoors together. One yorkie is even blind. Nobody gets hurt.

So there is just a little hope for you that size doesn't matter.

She is adorable. I hope you keep her.
